The Polychem Weda SD SYSTEM

This self-driven, non-clogging system uses wing-mounted shredder pumps that provide superior pumping capacity to thoroughly remove solids from the bottom of rectangular or circular clarifier basins.

The SD System is the latest offering in Polychem Systems' program to provide a complete range of clarifier systems and components to the water and wastewater industries. First introduced in the Lovö Water Works of Stockholm, Sweden, the SD System has been proven in the United States and Europe for over 10 years.

Shredder Pumps
Shredder pumps mounted directly on both header wings eliminate clogging and provide superior pumping capacity, with the added ability to discharge solids up to 3.5" (90mm) diameter.

Header Wings
Custom-designed stainless steel wings, flexible wipers, and driving motion enables the system to thoroughly and uniformly remove sediment. Pivoting wing assembly allows for variations in slope of tank floor.

Control Panel
All in-tank operations for optimizing sediment pumping efficiency and solids content (including easily adjustable run cycles, system routing, and variable drive speeds) are controlled from above. Flexible design allows integration with SCADA systems.

Driver
Electrically powered, variable-speed driver propels the system along the tank floor. All driver components and other modules (sensors, track guides, and pump connections) are centrally located on the driver unit for ease of service and reduced maintenance time.

Floor Track
The SD System's only permanent fixture, the stainless steel track is easily anchored to concrete or steel tank floors to minimize installation costs. Allows for customizable drive patterns for circular or rectangular applications.

Control Umbilical
Sealed, Kevlar® reinforced umbilical supplies power and control directly to the driver, eliminating the need for pulley systems. Engineered for long-term service in harsh, underwater environments.

Discharge Hose
2” to 4” (50mm to 100mm) heavy duty hose enables removed solids to be transported directly from the tank floor to downstream processing, eliminating intermediate storage requirements. To prevent tangling, the hose is ballasted for positive or neutral buoyancy.

Camera System
This underwater video camera & lighting system allows for real-time viewing of tank conditions and system performance. Mounts on either the wing section or the center drive assembly.

Removal System
Removes SD System for annual service without draining tanks or interrupting operations.
